Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong Secure Mixed Doubles Gold in Paris

In an impressive display, China’s Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong, the world number one mixed doubles pair, won their first Olympic gold medal at the Paris Olympics. They defeated South Korea’s Kim Won-ho and Jung Na-eun 21-8, 21-11 in a dominant final. This gold medal is China’s first in badminton at the Paris Olympics and their fifth in mixed doubles across Olympic history. It also adds to China’s overall gold medal tally, bringing it to 13. Zheng and Huang had previously been top seeds at the Tokyo Olympics but fell short in the final, settling for silver. This time, they have successfully claimed the top prize.
